Leadership Training Programs
Ramah Day Camp offers specialized summer programs for older children and teens: our Etgar leaders-in-training (LIT) program, for current 6th and 7th graders, and our Counselors-in-training (CIT) program for current 8th-10th graders.
The Etgar program provides current 6-7th graders with the unique opportunity to participate in regular camp activities and to also be a part of our interactive and experiential Leaders-in-Training program. Etgar campers enjoy the excitement of being a camper while gaining the skills and experiences to be strong and able leaders. As our oldest division, Etgar campers can choose their camp specialties, delivered at a more intensive level. They take on leadership roles during the camp day, are involved in community service, and enjoy trips and overnight experiences.
The Counselor-In-Training Program is for current 8-10th graders who want to develop their leadership skills and gain experience working with children in a camp environment. CITs will have the opportunity to work with campers in a bunk or to assist in specialty areas, working along side of an experienced staff member. CITs not only benefit from direct practical experience and mentorship, but also participate in weekly leadership training sessions lead by our senior supervisory staff. CITs also have time to socialize with their peers and enjoy the fun of camp. We are proud of the many CIT graduates who become future Ramah Day Camp counselors.
